Buddha Dordenma
The Buddha Dordenma is located atop a hill in Kuenselphodrang Nature Park overlooking the Thimphu Valley.

The Buddha Dordenma at Kuensel Phodrang, the tallest Buddha with the view of the Thimphu city. Drive to Sangay Gang to view the city from a different angle.

Day 1: Arrival

Arrive in Paro. Spend the day taking in the beautiful scenery and air of Paro. Night Halt.

Day 2: Paro

Highlights:

  • Drukgyel Dzong
  • Hike to Paro taktsang
  • Museum (paro Taa dzong)
Day 3: Paro - Thimphu

Drive from Paro to Thimphu. (65km, 1.5hrs with photo stop). Sightseeing in Thimphu.
Highlights:

  • The Buddha Dordenma at Kuensel Phodrang, the tallest Buddha with the view of the Thimphu city.
  • Drive to Sangay Gang to view the city from a different angle.
  • Drupthop Nunnery, for the bird's eye view of the fortress Tashichhoe Dzong( The Fortress of the Glorious Religion).
  • Tashichhoe Dzong visit. Visiting the fortress is possible only after the office hours on weekdays and whole day on weekends.
  • The National Memorial Chorten.
  • Centennial Farmer's market.
  • The Painting school to get an insight on the traditional arts of Bhutan.
  • The Motithang Takin(national animal) Preserve.
  • The stadium and Archery(national sport) ground.
Day 4: Thimphu

Continue sightseeing in Thimphu. Evening drive back to Paro.

Day 5: Paro

Departure.
